exhibition design

The exhibition was devoted to the figure of Karl Dedecius - an eminent German translator of Polish literature born in Łódź. The main goal was to enable the presentation of the biography of Dedecius and emphasize the importance of his character. The exhibition space was designed based on white and black colors, referring to paper and printing. The path of visiting the ground floor of the exhibition is based on the chronology of the biography of Dedecius and refers to the idea of the chapters of the book. On the first floor, the exhibition takes the form of thematic parts rooted in the translator's notebook, referring closely to the ideology „kwadratura koła” (the square of the circle) he used.
