Łódź Design Festival was created in 2007 as a review of the achievements of Polish design. From the beginning, it presents design in various aspects - from industrial design, through graphic design, architecture, craft, to the creation of services and interaction. Today, he focuses on asking questions, interpreting phenomena and critical discussion. It presents innovations and projects that have a big impact on our surroundings. Łódź Design Festival is an event where designers, architects, representatives of creative professions can look for inspiration, as well as anyone interested in culture and design. The program's strongest points are always thematic exhibitions, meetings with experts in the field of design and architecture, discussions and lectures, as well as workshops for adults and children. More than 435,000 people from around the world have taken part in it so far.
For the edition in 2015 2x3 studio build festival space arrangment around different kind of materials.
Following the slogan of the 9th Łódź Design Festival, the arrangement was also consequent in its material story. In the Festival Center 2, there was a story about wood (from rough raw material to paper) and metal, and at the headquarters of Art_Inkubator (Festival Center 1) about plastics. Through this project, the studio wanted the viewers to approximate the scale usage in design these most popular materials. The post-industrial architecture, so characteristic of Łódź, was enriched by unusual spatial installations made of selected materials.
