The exhibition "Karl Dedecius. Literatur - Dialog - Europa" is a thoughtfully designed multimedia installation celebrating the work and legacy of Karl Dedecius (1921-2016), the renowned Polish-German translator born in multicultural Lodz. The main goal was to enable the presentation of the biography of Dedecius and emphasize the importance of his character. The exhibition follows a chronological order, similar to the progression of Dedecius's life.

The second installation features three minimalist black monoliths with embedded screens, creating an intimate viewing experience in a bright, window-filled room. These structures invite visitors to engage with Dedecius's work through digital presentations. The black columns mark the period of the war and his internment in the concentration camp.

A large-scale historical black and white photograph of a city street with a cathedral spire, has been installed on the corner walls, creating an immersive environment. The photograph shows city of Lodz during Dedecius's time there. This exhibition was first presented in Lodz and was transferred to Darmstadt - city where Dedecius also lived. The image connects two exhibition spaces. The entire exhibition had to be tailored to the building of the former Deutsches Polen-Institut. The layout of the building determined many solutions - numerous small rooms linked by hallways situated on three floors. This was the final initiative prior to the change of their headquarters' location.
